Magazines

Often magazines will parody American Gothic for an article on rural life, poverty or housing issues. The paintings themes lend themselves as easily to 'Wholesome Natural Goodness' as to 'hard life' and 'impoverished communities'. But sometimes, it's just for fun. Mad magazine has used it at least Three times.
